How do I prepare for the installation process?

If we are installing windows, please remove window coverings and blinds ahead of time and move furniture away from the interior of the windows so the crew can hit the ground running. In rooms where privacy is an issue, you may leave them until the crew is ready for that room. If there is a room in which you would like us to start, please let me know. I will instruct the crew accordingly and make sure they bring the product for that area on the first day. If possible, they will accommodate such requests, but if for any reason they cannot, he will explain that.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not re-install the blinds or window coverings.

If we are installing new patio or entry doors, we suggest you remove anything hanging on the wall near the door so it is not damaged during the process.

For either windows or doors, if you have a security alarm in your home, you may need to contact your company to have them disconnect sensors (not always necessary).

The Installation Process

If you have been told that we anticipate your project being finished in one day, look for the crew to arrive between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. to get started.

If we have told you that your project will take longer than one day, then on the first day, our crew will let you know the plan of progressing around the house. Sometimes, they set, trim, and finish windows as they go. Other times, they may set everything, then go back and trim. Weather is one factor that might influence this — if they predict rain on a day, they would plan to be inside doing trim that day, so they might set multiple windows ahead. Again, we can keep you apprised of the plans as much as you’d like.

After the first day, if they have to pick up more windows, look for them between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. If they don’t have to come here first, they should be there by 9:00 a.m.

If we are completing your installation in a single day, they will probably be done by around 5:00 p.m. but they will keep you apprised and give you an idea of how long they think it will take.

If you have a multi-day installation, every day throughout the installation, they will work as long as possible, but also must leave your home secure and weather-tight every night. For that reason, their “end of day,” sometimes depends on where they are in the job. However, they typically clean up and leave around 4:00 or 5:00 p.m.
